About Us.

A Church service for Young Adults by Young Adults.

ENGAGE is an evening Church service starting at 6 PM every Sunday for Young Adults and Youth run by Eastside Community Church. ENGAGE is run by Young Adults for Young adults and youth. Everyone is welcome at ENGAGE! Whether you are studying or working; single or married; introvert or extrovert (or somewhere in between),  ENGAGE may be for you. Our mission at every service is to engage with God, Engage in the word and Engage with each other. 

Eastside Community Church (the church that runs ENGAGE) is a church based in Pretoria, South Africa and affiliated to the Baptist Union of SA. Our ‘main thing’ is to journey with unchurched people as they journey toward a relationship with Christ, and to help them become fully devoted followers of Christ.

Our building is a community building that is used regularly by many different organisations for their events.  We believe we are here to serve our city, and consider our building a connecting point between ourselves and people around us.

In addition to weekly services and Life Groups, we also run regular growth courses for people in our community.  These courses are open to people from all walks of life – whether part of Eastside or not.  To find out more, visit our Eastside’s main website at eastside.org.za.

What we Believe!

Listed below is a few things we as Eastside Community Church believe. If you have any questions please contact us!

  • We believe in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments in their original writings as being fully inspired of God, and we accept them as the final authority for faith and life.
  • We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true man.
  • We believe that God created man in His own image; that man sinned and thereby incurred the penalty of death, physical and spiritual; and that all human beings inherit a sinful nature; which issues (in the case of those who have reached moral responsibility) in actual transgression involving personal guilt.
  • We believe that the Lord Jesus died for our sins, a substitutionary sacrifice, according to the Scriptures, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.
  • We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, His ascension into heaven, and His present life as our High Priest and Advocate.
  • We believe in the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • We believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit, His regenerating work, and abiding presence in the true believer.
  • We believe that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.
  • We believe that all Christians are called to a life of holiness, devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ and service for Him.
  • We believe in the resurrection both of the just and the unjust, the eternal blessedness of the redeemed, and the eternal banishment of those who have rejected the offer of salvation.
