Visiting ENGAGE
for the first Time?

Are you thinking about visiting ENGAGE but you are also a little nervous of what you'll be walking into? We understand! We've all been there! That's why we try make Engage as 'visitor friendly' as possible. To set your mind at ease, we hope to answer all the questions you might have right here. If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to contact us!

First Impressions

These are the first things you will find when coming to ENGAGE.

When you arrive at ENGAGE, you will see some activity inside and outside the building. A member of our ‘Connect Team’ will be at the door to welcome you. Please let the Connect Team know if it’s your first time at ENGAGE. Once you are inside you will hear music you will most likely know. You are more than welcome to sit in any seat you would like to – no chairs are reserved at ENGAGE.  If you come a bit early, someone will also be able to show you around and make you some tea or a cappuccino – for free, of course!

What happens

During the service.

This is what you can expect at ENGAGE during our Church service.

Just before the service starts officially, we’ll dim the lights and start our pre-service video. This will be your cue to find a seat and get ready for a great service. The Worship Leader on duty will welcome you and start our time of singing. If you are not comfortable singing along with us, you are welcome to just listen. The songs that will be sung are ‘current’ and our sound includes instruments such as drums, electric guitar, piano as well as beats and synths.

During the service our MC’s will share what’s happening at ENGAGE and let everyone know about upcoming events and opportunities where you can be involved. We also incorporate something fun into most of our Engage Services, and our MC’s will be part of the interviews, kahoots, or other fun elements we bring into our services.  We believe church should be enjoyed, not endured.

Because we are passionate about letting everyone know about Jesus, you will hear us speaking a lot about unchurched people.  We always encourage our ENGAGE family to find new ways of serving, encouraging and loving people that are not part of ENGAGE simply so that more people can come to know our God.

A financial offering will be collected – but please know that we do not expect you, as a visitor, to contribute anything financial to ENGAGE! This is an opportunity for those who call Eastside ‘home’ to be financially involved in what we do as a church.

Finally, one of our preachers will preach a biblically sound message of around 25-30minutes, before people gather for tea and coffee and to meet new friends. Please join us at our ‘Connect Cafe’ for a cappuccino and to meet some of our crew. If you are visiting Eastside for the first time we would love to meet you!

ENGAGE may not be the church for you, but we would love for you to visit and decide for yourself. You’ll find that ENGAGE is the church for you if you are looking for a small sized church with a big vision. ENGAGE has a relaxed atmosphere filled with the laughter, meaningful worship and biblical teaching.

Our services are run by young adults so you can expect Media, Music and Fun which caters to young adults and the youth.

ENGAGE is a service run by Eastside Community Church. As our name indicates, we are we are a community church and are defined not by our denomination (though we are a member of the Baptist Union of South Africa) but by our passion for all people in our community.

We are amped about doing life with all types of people from all races, backgrounds and ages. So whatever your church background, and especially if you do not have one, we would be excited to have you at ENGAGE!

Thinking of Visiting?

We are excited that you are considering to come check out ENGAGE at 6PM this sunday! Here is some info you may want to know.

How do I get there?
ENGAGE is located at Eastside Community Church on the corner of Garsfontein and Primula streets in Moreletapark. You’ll find our building easily by looking for a three story building with a glass front (our office block), a soccer field and barn-like auditorium.

What should I wear?
ENGAGE has a “come as you are” atmosphere. You will see some dressed up and some dressed casually.

Are my children welcome?
Yes! We love kids. We have a Kids playroom in the church where you can sit with your kids and listen to the service. Our Children’s Church at our 9am Sunday morning service is incredible and SHOULD NOT BE MISSED!
